Hire Furniture isn’t just for grown ups !

Furniture Hire always sounds so Adult ! The world is changing though and with the addition of lines like the Gehry Colour Cubes, Valiant Hire was able to transform the stark white background of this children’s fashion parade into a technicolour wonderland.
In addition to making this event an outstanding success, it was all put together last minute ! The client called up at 6.30 in the evening and our team had the cubes in place before 8.30 the next morning – ready for the parade !

Dannii Minogue – Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2011

The amazing Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) has now finished and what a week it was. One of the undoubted highlights was the picture of fashion herself , Dannii Minogue.

At a VIP event styled by Georgie at www.georgeous.com.au using Valiant Hire furniture, Dannii stole the show. If her amazing beauty wasn’t enough, just take a look at the gown she was wearing (and some may also say that partner Kris Smith was the perfect accessory as well !)
The event along with MSFW was a tremendous success and our congratulations go to the organisers and of course Georgie Kay and her fabulous team. Don’t forget to check out her website and facebook page.
Freeways to Furniture Hire

Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Sydney

One of the true glamour events on the fashion circuit has to be the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival in Sydney. Tony Assness was one of the many talented and creative people involved this year and chose to use our wonderful Nemo Chair as part of his staging set up for his client. Draped in fabric the Nemo was almost ethereal in its presence.
Combining minimalist white tables and our equally stunning Panton Chairs, the set was not only purposeful, but beautiful.
More Lady Gaga – Monster Hall Sydney Concert

Valiant Hire was proud to be the supplier for the furniture used in the backstage area of the lady Gaga Live at the Monster Hall Concert in July this year.
As promised in our blog a month ago, we have now been able to release the images from the Lady Gaga concert at the Sydney Town Hall.
Sydney event company Azbthecreative utilised some unique and stylish furniture from Valiant Hire, combining it with their own selection of accessories to create a look as eclectic as the performer herself.
The Hydro Majestic

The Hydro Majestic – Medlow Bath NSW Australia
If you have grown up in Sydney and the surrounds or even just visited the area, there is a good chance you took the time to visit the Blue Mountains and see the stunning Hydro Majestic at Medlow Bath just west of Katoomba.
Driving past last weekend and seeing it behind fences and ready for renovation brought back so many memories that I just had to dig further and find out more about its future and of course it’s amazing past.
I was lucky enough to speak with Peter Reeve who is looking after the Interior & Creative Design on the renovation project about the most challenging obstacles when dealing with a project with such an important history.
“Embarking on the Hydro Majestic journey over 2 ½ years ago was not a decision to be taken lightly. The Hydro for me is like a mirror reflecting Australia growing up from the end of the 19th Century into Federation, through 2 world wars, the depression, and the coming of modern times. Everyone has memories of the Hydro – often many more myth than reality – but they are fond and fabulous all the same.

Biennale of Sydney 2012 : all our relations
We had the pleasure of attending an event this week to listen to the vision and direction of the 2012 Biennale by Artistic Directors Catherine de Zegher and Gerald McMaster. In addition we heard from some of the many talented artists from across the world who will be descending on Sydney in June 2012.
They will transform some incredible art spaces across our city into amazing installations that will be accessible by everyone and encourage interaction with modern art.
The evening was held in the stunning Seidler Penthouse in Milson’s Point overlooking Luna Park and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
As radiant as the venue was Penelope Seidler who graciously allowed the use of the property for this important meeting. Penelope has been involved in the Biennale for many years and has attended every Biennale that has been held in Sydney from its beginnings in 1973. This year Sydney is fortunate to have Penelope join the board of the Biennale. Her wealth of experience will benefit this massive project.
Valiant Hire will continue to be involved as a supporter for the events as well as helping out with the office furniture for the Biennale office for the next 2 years. We have been involved in the Biennale for many years and continue to support the arts across Australia.

Re-use, Recycle – some interesting Green concepts!

Being in the furniture hire industry, you could say we are at the forefront of recycling and green business practices.
Instead of furniture ending up in landfill, it is reused, therefore reducing the carbon footprint of many companies across the world.
This got us thinking as to what unusual forms of recycling we see in the world.
One of the coolest ‘reuse’ projects around is the conversion of airplanes to hotels. There are a few around the world including Jumbostay and Hotel Suites in the Netherlands . Some are designed as exclusive upmarket retreats and others as economical hostels close to the airport.
Whatever the style, the concept of recycling a plane to a hotel is innovative and fun! (Not to mention a great opportunity for ‘flight-phobics’ to experience the feel of a plane without any anxiety at all.)
There are also amazing pieces of office and home furniture that have been created from recycled airplane parts (check out motoart.com).
This certainly proves that furniture around the home and office can be as individual as you are!
