Concept to Completion: Providore Park Case Study
At Valiant, we pride ourselves on transforming creative visions into reality, especially when it comes to large-scale outdoor events. Providore Park stands as a testament to our ability to not only meet but exceed client expectations. This case study takes you through the journey of bringing Providore Park to life, from conceptualisation to completion, showcasing our team's expertise in bringing our client's vision to life through our expertise in event furniture hire and styling.
Conceptualisation Phase: Client's Brief & Goals
Providore Park started with a clear and exciting vision from our client: to create a high-end picnic aesthetic that resonates with the tranquil modern architectural statements found in Brisbane, particularly the iconic Calile Hotel. The challenge was to bring this aesthetic to a large outdoor setting, ensuring that it catered to a diverse array of guests while maintaining the luxury and sophistication the client desired.
The primary goal was to maximise seating within budget, creating multiple zones that were cohesive yet distinct. The event needed to appeal to a wide range of guests, offering both high and low seating options and ensuring ample shade was available. The vision was to create an environment where every guest, no matter where they were seated, would feel part of a unified, luxurious experience.
Strategic Planning
Our team approached the initial brainstorming and planning sessions with enthusiasm and creativity. The brief's demand for multiple seating areas within budget led us to explore innovative ways to combine lower-budget options with statement pieces. One of the key ideas was to use the undulating curves of the Eva banquette and the wavy lines of the curved Dante tapas table, which provided an organic and soft visual appeal, perfectly aligning with the event's desired aesthetic.
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding environment, particularly the tones and textures of Roma Street Parklands, our team focused on terracotta, greens, and stone as the primary palette. The previous year’s event provided valuable insights, leading us to increase seating options and ensure that the design tied seamlessly into the natural beauty of the venue.
Design and Collaboration
The design process for Providore Park began with a reflection on the successes and challenges of the previous year’s event. The decision to use more seating options and align the tones with the natural surroundings was crucial. The collaboration between our events team and the client was highly synergistic. Together, we walked through the site and made key decisions, such as swapping out an initially proposed yellow feature tone for a blush pink, which elevated the sophistication of the space.
Throughout the design process, our team worked closely with the client to refine the proposals. For example, while the client loved the marquee aesthetic, they wanted the space to be more functional for larger groups. In response, we adjusted the layout to include more lounging areas, ensuring that the marquee not only looked stunning but also catered to the comfort and social dynamics of the guests.
It's crucial to consider the overall experience from the guest's perspective. Every detail, from the colour palette to the layout, needs to work together to create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.
Large statement pieces played a crucial role in the event's success. In such a vast open space, features like the long wavy Dante tapas tables and large circular Bloom lounges helped to create distinct zones and ensure the overall layout had a strong visual impact.
Installation and styling
The installation and styling of Providore Park involved several key areas, each with its own unique aesthetic and purpose.
Stone & Wood Garden Bar: This area required a rustic vibe, which we achieved by using timber and rattan furniture with pops of moss green. The result was a natural, easy-going atmosphere that still maintained the event's overall sophistication.

The Picnic Society: A pre-booked, exclusive area that exuded luxury through the use of our baby blue Eva banquettes in boucle texture. The combination of blue with touches of pink and yellow created a vibrant, summery feel.

Conservatory Masterclass: Designed for masterclass sessions, this space featured long Brooklyn tables with a herringbone marble finish, paired with Shibui dining chairs. The addition of beautiful florals and greenery added elegance and freshness to the area.
