SOPHISTICATED COASTAL CHARM

Upon being appointed to style this property, the elevated floorplan and clean, classic palette immediately stood out, providing a warm and inviting foundation.

In consultation with the client, a modern take on an Australian coastal style with an essence of the Hamptons style was requested, without leaning too far in either direction. Drawing inspiration from the sandstone feature wall, the classic Hamptons architecture of the exterior, and the client's selected fixtures and fittings; our design decisions revolved around the theme of "warm, tactile, and textural." The aim was to create a warm and nurturing family home that invited tactile interaction with every surface.

To achieve this, a selection of classical and elegant materials was used, including marble, oak, linen, rattan, and velvet. Furniture pieces with modern shapes and designs were chosen, such as the barrel legs on the dining table, the contemporary silhouette of the sofa, and the orange warm veins featured on the coffee tables, contributing to a contemporary feel.

Green was used as a signature color throughout the downstairs area to create a cohesive story for the property. This grounding element was essential to harmonize the mixture of different styles.

This project exemplifies how a perfect selection of finishes, excellent space planning, and inspiration drawn from the existing built form can result in a stunning design outcome.
