At Valiant, we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment and the communities we serve. Our sustainability efforts are a core part of our business strategy, and we believe that we can create value for our stakeholders while also contributing to a better future for all.
Our sustainability efforts are built on four key pillars: environmental stewardship, social responsibility, economic sustainability, and ethical governance. We believe that by focusing on these areas, we can create a sustainable business model that benefits our stakeholders and the planet.
Environmental Stewardship
Valiant is committed to reducing our environmental footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future. We have implemented a number of initiatives to achieve this, including reducing our carbon footprint through energy efficiency and sustainable transportation practices (offsetting our travel by planting trees), as well as minimising waste and conserving natural resources.
One of our most significant initiatives is the implementation of a national recycling program in all our offices. We have also encouraged our employees to reduce paper usage, switch off lights and electronics when not in use, and have distributed Who Gives A Crap and Zero Co. products across all our offices and warehouses.
Social Responsibility
We believe that we have a responsibility to support the communities in which we operate. We are committed to social responsibility through employee volunteerism, charitable giving, and supporting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
We have established a corporate giving program that supports a wide range of community organisations, including those that support underserved and vulnerable populations. We also encourage our employees to volunteer their time and skills to help support community organisations and initiatives.
Economic Sustainability
Economic sustainability is essential for creating a sustainable business model. We are committed to ethical and responsible business practices and believe that this approach benefits our customers, employees, and stakeholders. Our economic sustainability initiatives include investing in employee training and development, promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring fair labour practices. We also ensure we maintain a strong financial position, which allows us to make strategic investments in our business and weather economic downturns.
Ethical Governance
Good governance is essential for maintaining the trust of our stakeholders and for creating a sustainable business model. We have established a comprehensive code of conduct that sets out the ethical and legal standards that we expect all employees to follow. We also maintain strong governance practices, including a Board of Directors that provides oversight and accountability for our operations.
Sustainability and the circular economy are increasingly important topics in the furniture and styling industry. As consumers become more aware of the environmental impact of their purchases, many are looking for companies that prioritise sustainability and reduce waste, and committed to reducing our environmental impact through sustainable practices and the circular economy.
Sustainable Practices
We understand the importance of sustainable practices and have implemented a range of initiatives to reduce our environmental impact. For example, we have implemented a "reduce, reuse, recycle" approach to waste management, which involves reducing waste wherever possible, reusing materials, and recycling as much as possible. Prioritising the use of environmentally friendly materials and processes, such as LED lighting and efficient heating and cooling systems. Also, sourcing materials and products locally wherever possible, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting local businesses.
Circular Economy
The circular economy is an economic model that prioritises the reuse and recycling of materials, rather than the traditional linear model of "take, make, dispose." Having implemented a range of initiatives to reduce waste and promote recycling and reuse, as a part of our commitment to the circular economy. Having refurbished and reused all our hired pieces, as well as partnered with local charities to donate furniture we no longer need. These initiatives help reduce our waste as well as support the local community. Offering a range of eco-friendly products, such as sustainable recycled plastic furniture. These products are designed with the circular economy in mind and are made from materials that can be reused or recycled at the end of their lifecycle.
Our sustainable efforts are an essential part of our business strategy, and we believe that our dedication to sustainability benefits our stakeholders and the planet. We will continue to invest in sustainable practices and initiatives, and we continue to strive to be a leader in sustainability within our industry. We believe that by working together, we can create a more sustainable future together.
