1. Use Mirrors to Multiply Natural Light
Mirrors are one of the most effective ways to increase the sense of light and depth in an apartment. Positioning a large mirror opposite a window allows it to reflect natural light back into the room, helping the entire space feel brighter and more open.
One statement mirror will generally create more visual depth than a cluster of smaller decorative mirrors. Mirrored consoles, sideboards and accessories can also introduce reflection more subtly. Avoid placing mirrors on walls that receive little natural light, as they will have far less impact. Bright, light-filled rooms also tend to present more strongly in listing photography and during inspections.

Hanging curtains close to the ceiling rather than directly above the window frame creates the illusion of greater height, while tall shelving and portrait-format artwork can reinforce vertical lines throughout the space.
5. Layer Your Lighting
Lighting adds another layer of depth. Instead of relying on a single overhead light, combine ambient lighting such as pendants with task lighting from floor or desk lamps and accent lighting from table lamps or shelving. Multiple light sources at different heights create visual layers and soften harsh shadows.
